despite的用法
prep.不管;盡管(自己)不愿意;不在乎;雖有 n.侮辱;憎恨;怨恨;輕蔑的拒絕或不承認(rèn)
espite用作介詞時(shí),與 in spite of同義,都表示“盡管”、“雖然”、“不顧”之意
放在句首時(shí),要接成分,成分也就是句子的組成部分,由詞或詞組充當(dāng)。 如:
Despite the drought,we expect a good crop. 盡管天旱,豐收依然在望。
Despite his advanced years,he is learning to drive. 雖然年事已高,他現(xiàn)在在學(xué)駕駛汽車。

2.PREP不由自主;情不自禁If you do something despite yourself you do it although you did not really intend or expect to.
Despite myself, Harry's remarks had caused me to stop and reflect. 哈里的話讓我不由自主地停下來細(xì)想。
