用法
1.表示“建議”，通常為及物動(dòng)詞，若其后的賓語是動(dòng)詞，通常應(yīng)是動(dòng)名詞，而不能是不定式。
如：我建議等到適當(dāng)?shù)臅r(shí)候。
正：I advise waiting till the right time.
誤：I advise to wait till the right time.
注意：advise 之后不能直接跟不定式，但可接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)。
如：He advised us to sell the house.
他建議我們把房子賣了。
The doctor advised me to stop smoking.
醫(yī)生建議我戒煙。
注意 advise 后接不定式復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)形式不要與上面第一個(gè)句型混為一談。
如：主動(dòng)式：He advised us to sell the house
被動(dòng)式：We were advised to sell the house.
比較錯(cuò)誤句型：We advised to sell the house. (誤)
2.其后若接 that 從句，通常要用虛擬語氣(should+v.)。
如：He advised that I (should) write her a letter.

3.advise的搭配范圍很廣,生活中重要的和一般的事物均可使用。

1. advise doing sth 建議做某事。
如：He advised leaving early.

注：不能直接后跟不定式作賓語。所以不能說：-He advised to leave early.
2. advise sb to do sth 建議某人做某事。

注：以上意思也可用后接從句的形式表達(dá)(注意從句用 should+v. 這樣的虛擬語氣)。

advice和advise用法辨析
1. advice 為不可數(shù)名詞，可用some, much, a little, a piece of等修飾，但不可說an advice 或 a lot of advices. 例如:
Let's give you a piece of advice.
2. advise 為動(dòng)詞.例如:
We advise waiting here. (動(dòng)名詞作賓語)
He advised me not to do that. (不定式作賓語補(bǔ)足語)
advise與suggest用法辨析
(1) 相同點(diǎn) 都可表示建議做某事， advise與suggest后面都可接名詞/動(dòng)名詞/ that從句(should加動(dòng)詞原形，should可以省略)。例如:
他建議(我們)再等一會(huì)兒。
He advised/ suggested waiting a bit longer.
He advised/ suggested (our) waiting a bit longer.
He advised/ suggested that we (should) wait a bit longer.
上面的第三句可轉(zhuǎn)化為:
It was suggested that we (should) wait a bit longer.
What he suggested was that we (should) wait a bit longer.
His suggestion was that we (should) wait a bit longer.
(2)不同點(diǎn)
①advise后可以直接跟人稱代詞作賓語，如:advise sb. to do sth.; advise sb. against (doing) sth.; advise sb. on/ about sth.; 而suggest后一般用suggest to sb that …形式。如:他建議我們改天再來。
[正]He advised us to come another day.
[誤]He suggested us to come another day.
[誤]He suggested us that we come another day.
②suggest還有“暗示、表明、指出(一個(gè)事實(shí))”的意思。此時(shí)從句中用陳述語氣，不用虛擬語氣。如:
Her expression suggested pleasure. 她面露喜色。
His silence could only suggest disapproval. 他的沉默只能暗示反對(duì)。
