關(guān)于錢(qián)的英語(yǔ)演講1
Money is regarded by some people as the most importent thing in life. It is even regarded as the symbol of wealth and social position. For example, with plenty of money a man can do whatever he wants to. He can afford expensive cars and luxurious houses, and he can travel around the world and visit as many interesting places as he wants to. In their eyes, money is everything in life.
In my opinion, money can both benefit people and do harm to them. On the one hand, we can't deny that money is useful. We need money to buy food, buy a house or pay our education cost. Money can make us live more comfortably. For example, with more money, we can help others and take part in more social activities and receive a good education, thus increasing our knowledge and developing our skills. On the other hand, some people try to get money by dishonest means, for example, they often cheat and gemble, even rob and kill people. Sooner or later, they will be punished by the law. Money can bring them nothing but misery.
In addition, money can not buy everything, For instance, no matter how much money one hast he can not buy good health, happiness or friendship, Although money is useful in many ways, there are still a lot of things that money can't buy in the world. In addition, money can also do harm to us. If a person really thinks of money as everything and pays his attention only to money, he will lose his friends, or even the care and warmth from his family. Thus, it brings him only loneliness.

關(guān)于錢(qián)的英語(yǔ)演講3
needless to say, money is not very important, but very very important.
if there is no money, i can’t use this microphone to speak to you and we can’t have such a room to hold such a competition. without money, we can’t study in such a schoolyard. without money, we can’t live in such a hometown. without money, we can’t have such a motherland. on the other hand, if there is no money, you don’t need to bear my speech about money now.
most of us have dreams about the future, dreams of having a good job and making much money. surely someone has thought at times “if only i had a lot of money, i could be the happiest person in the world.” in fact it’s the main mistake that people make about money.
however, is money the road to happiness? not really! many people work every day, work overtime, work weekends to make a lot of money. are they happy? no. they are too busy making money. meanwhile, their personal lives, if they have any, fall apart. they have no time to form or to maintain friendship. they even lose the abilities to relax and to enjoy themselves. enjoying means taking things, taking time to see, to hear, to taste, to smell, to feel. they do not take time to do this. they say: “i’ll do it when i have enough money to retire” then they find that it is too late. why we usually make such a mistake and even more mistakes? activists say it is because of money itself. they think money has changed many things. for example, they think money has changed our way to measure someone’s value in the society. they even regard money as the source of evil. also, they hate money, but they are wrong, completely wrong.
in my opinion, it is unfair to money. money is a tool. well, there’s no denying that we do something harmful with money. but we can’t say money is the source of evil. just like a hammer, we can use a hammer to kill someone, but can we say a hammer is a devil? it is the same with money.
money is neither good nor bad itself. it is a mirror, a perfect and important mirror, and a mirror that reflects both the darkness and the brilliance of humanity. in other words, all depend on us.
so, my fellow students, ladies and gentlemen in the future, ask not what we can do for money, ask what money can do for us, ask what money can do to show the brilliance of humanity. because, we have the future; we are the future.

Many people believe that money is the most important thing in life. It seems impossible to live without money in today’s society. With money people can buy bigger house fancy cloths expensive food luxurious cars and travel all around the world. Money leads to a better life and ensure people’s basic needs. Money is also stand for wealth and social status. If one makes countless money then he is a successful man. As to some young girls money is the only measure to access a man. If a man has a new apartment and a new car he will be the “hot stuff” in the girls’ eye. They marry for money rather than for love. Just like the old Chinese saying goes money makes the mare go. Making more money has become a major goal in the eye of some people. They value money more than anything else in the world.
Different people have different opinions of money. Some people spare no effort to make money such as stealing gambling and cheating. They believe money can bring them everything. However I don’t think money can make people really happy or bring people everything. People can not use money to buy health. Steven Jobs the founder of the Apple Company died of cancer. He was a billionaire but he couldn’t use money to buy himself a longer life. And money can not buy the time that already slip away. Money is also a tool for us to exchange materials but not all the stuff. We should have a right attitude towards money. We should earn money by honest means and spend it probably. Only in this way money can make us happy.
The word wealth always reminds people of money and the sayings or concepts related to money. For example, “money talks”; “money makes the ghosts turn the mill”; “as birds die for food, so men die for wealth”; “the poor have no friends even though they live in the noisy downtown, while the rich have remote kinsfolk even if they live in the deep mountains”; “poverty chills ambition” “one cent short may put a hero in an awkward situation” etc, etc..
In the 1980” s, all shops were state-owned with marked prices. You couldn”t buy what you wanted with even one cent short, so one cent could indeed embarrass a hero. A popular song at that time started “I picked up one cent at the roadside, and I handed it over to the policeman…” But now no one cares to pick it up even if it were ten cents.
People”s reverence for money is expressed in varied ways. The names of companies or stores are often “Beer of Wealth and Honor”, “Restaurant of Wealth and Rank” “Store of the Aristocrats” “Hotel of Fame and Prestige” etc. (even some people”s names have the meanings of “full of gold” or “great fortune”). At New Year”s time, the god of wealth is worshiped and the picture of the god is covered with signs of money. When a millionaire is walking in the street, people will show their profound respect even though they know very well that they can not get a cent from him. The English film “the Million-Pound Note” makes a most vivid revelation of this situation. With the million pound note in hand, the hero has the privilege to buy on credit, or on loan and is even presented money from others. It”s an idealized end of the story that the hero is still loved by his girl friend ev[]en after he lost his million-pound note. However, without the million-pound note, they couldn”t have known each other. It”s very difficult for people to make friends directly with beggars.
The song of “All Good Things Must End” in A Dream of the Red Mansions attacks the money worshipers by saying:
“All men long to be immortals
yet silver and gold they prize
And grub for money all their lives
Till death seals up their eyes”
But when Chen Shih-yin tries to expound this song by analyzing the inconstancy of human relationships and the incomprehensible human heart, he has to say:
“While men with gold and silver by the chest
Turn beggars, scorned by all and dispossessed”
The conclusion is that it doesn”t work without money.
In spite of the human civilizations over thousands of years, people can not deny the function of money. This shows how important money is. Money plays a decisive role to individuals, to families and even to countries or nationalities. Otherwise, why is everyone, from doorkeepers to presidents, trying to earn as much as possible Why does every country need Chancellors of the Exchequer, who keep formulating and revising financial laws and regulations How different it is to be a creditor nation and a debtor nation! The United States is playing the tyrant just because it is wealthy enough. A poor man may cherish lofty aspirations, but will probably be beaten because of his poverty. The Afghanistan may have won a lot of sympathy, but how difficult it would be to live solely on charity.
