Ways to (Respectfully) Disagree
36 . But we can learn a lot from conversations where we don't agree— if we can listen and talk reasonably, that is.
Unfortunately, many of us either shy away completely from disagreements or lose it when things don't go our way. These 5 tips can help keep disagreements helpful — whether you're talking to a parent, friend, or anyone else:
37 . If you get upset, it can help to remember you're mad at the idea or concept(觀念)your parent (or friend, coach, coworker, etc.) is raising, not the person.
If you've ever been on the receiving end of someone's long speech making you unhappy , you know how valuable using respectful language and behavior can be. So instead of saying what you might be thinking ("That's a stupid idea!"), try: "I don't agree, and here's why." Don’t shout, use sarcasm(諷刺), or say derogatory(詆毀的)words . 38
Using "you" statements can sound like disagreement. For example, telling your mom or dad, "You always remind me about my chores(瑣事)on Wednesdays when you know I have a lot of homework" has a very different tone from "I'm feeling pressured because I have a lot of homework tonight. Can I do those chores tomorrow?"
Being a good listener is a way of showing that you respect and understand the other person's opinion. That makes it more likely he or she will do the same for you. When the other person is talking, try to stop yourself from thinking about why you disagree or what you'll say next. 39 . When it's your turn to talk, repeat any key points the other person made to show you listened and heard what was said. Then calmly present your case and why you disagree.
40 . Of course, it's a huge challenge to stay calm and reasonable when you feel angry about something — especially if the person you're talking to gets angry. You may need to be the mature (成熟) one who manages the conversation, even if the other person is a parent or someone who should know better.
A. Instead, concentrate on what's being said.
B. Don’t make it personal.
C. It’s easier to agree than disagree.
D. Stay calm and keep silent till the conversation is completely over.
E. Then you'll have a much better chance of making your idea understood.
F. Disagreement probably means being impolite.
G.This is the most important thing you can do to keep a conversation a possible success.

At one point along an open highway, I came to a crossroads with a traffic light. I was alone on the road by now, but 61 I drove up to the light, it turned red, and I braked to a stop. I looked left, right, and behind me. Nothing. Not a car, no suggestion of headlights, but there I sat, 62 (wait) for the light to change, with the only human being for at least a mile in any direction.
I started wondering 63 I refused to run the light. I was not afraid of 64 (catch) by the police, 65 there was obviously no policeman anywhere around and 66 certainly would have been no danger in going 67 it. Much later that night, the 68 question of why I’d stopped for that light came 69 to me. I think I stopped because it’s part of a contract (合同) we all have with each other. It’s not only the law, but it’s an agreement we have, and we trust each other to honor 70 : we don’t go through red lights. Like most of us, I’m more ready to be stopped from doing something bad by the social agreement that disapproves of it than by any law against it.

Nowadays, some students would not like to live in a dormitory. However, they rent houses outside the school. There are advantages for them. Live in a dormitory can increase friendship and cooperation among classmates, but of course it is safer. Besides, a dormitory is more like a society, where enables students to learn to get along with each other, thus preparing the social life later. As for renting houses to live lonely, it’s better for your study as you can feel free in your own room without disturbed by others. As a result, you can have a plenty of time to devote yourself to review your lessens wholeheartedly. But there may appear a few safety problem as you live outside the school. Anyhow as a student, I prefer living in a dormitory.

書面表達(dá):
One possible version:
Good Behavior should Start on the Way to School
These days, breaking traffic rules and littering are not uncommon, which causes serious harm to life and the environment. Changing this situation requires our great effort on the part of everyone. As for me, it should start on my way to school.
I will keep traffic rules in mind all the way. If I ride a bike, I'll always keep to the right and never cross a road until the traffic light turns green. If I walk, I'll never forget to use the pedestrian crossing. In this way, we’ll be safe and live in harmony. Meanwhile, I will regard it as my duty to help keep our environment clean and healthy. Not only will I keep from littering and spitting (吐痰)anywhere, I will also help clean up the roadside litter whenever possible.
Everyone can change the world. Every little step can make a big difference.
