People once asked me: “Why did you choose architecture?” I couldn’t give a simple answer for that. Maybe it was because I like painting and construction since childhood. I also earnestly yearn to create beautiful things on my own and architecture can satisfy my imagination in space, materials, and color. My born interest in this sector is also because of my parents, who are both structural engineer and electrical engineer, influencing me gradually and unconsciously since I was a kid and giving me perceptual knowledge in the field. After my five-year study in the Department of Architecture, and one-year work experience in architectural design, I ask myself this same question. The result is that aside from the factors mentioned above, what really makes me choose architecture is its intrinsic appeal, which is just like the maxim written inside the building of the Department of Architecture: “Architecture is the combination of art and technology.”
Perhaps when a person is engaged in what his keen interest blossoms, he will never feel tired, instead he would feel motivated and have an enriching experience. Five years‘ academic study in the School of Architecture and Arts of University of _ transformed my instinctive excitement and imagination about architecture into systematic knowledge and comprehensive understanding. This transformation, first of all, lies in my skills in the fine arts. Differing from my previous mere interest in fine arts, the study of architecture makes me begin to ponder on how to draw using aesthetic elements from fine arts such as color, lighting and composition to apply to architecture. I was so dedicated to such brainstorming and imagination that I would always work around the clock in the studio for days on end. Secondly, the study of basic architectural courses, such as architectural structure, mechanics and materials science, makes me realize that architecture not only gives importance on aesthetics, but also on the more essential functionality and practicality. In that process, I realized that architecture is not only an art, but also more importantly a sort of technology. Five years of college study gives me a deeper comprehension of architecture, that is, architecture is also part of other cultures - it is subject to other cultures‘ influence, and at the same time it influences other cultures.
Because of my childhood architectural background, coupled with my lasting keen interest in architecture, I gained excellent achievements in the major courses of my college study, ranked top three in the class, and also received first prize scholarships and many other scholarships for five consecutive years. Besides, owing to my understanding of architecture, I am not satisfied with mere textbook knowledge. I believe architecture is not only a skill but also, more importantly, a combination of creativity and imagination. An excellent architecture designer needs not only solid architectural skills and knowledge, but also needs nourishment from fine arts, materials science, engineering and culture. For that purpose, I read quite extensively, understood the architectural history of different countries - especially European architectural history, learnt from works of modern and contemporary architectural masterpieces, and gained insights on their design conceptions that are full of creativity and connotation. The knowledge I have gained from these efforts heightens my interests and my desire for creation.
I had the opportunity to put to practice this desire for creation during the last stage of my college study. During the second semester of my fourth year, I interned with _ for half a year where I participated in the environmental design of the _ astronomical station and the conceptual design of the Phoenix Residential Complex in _. These experiences gave me insights into the relationship between a building‘s space and its functionality, as well as architectural design‘s feasibility, which is an important factor to consider when designing.
After graduating in 2002, I worked with an excellent architectural design institute, engaging in architectural design. In the meantime, I participated in the conceptual design and design drafts of the janitor’s room, the main machine hall of _ Company Ltd. I was also responsible for the design of the drafts of the multi-purpose hall in _ , _ and the renovation design of the _ Archives of the _. Because of my prominent achievements, I was quickly promoted as an exception from draftsmen to designer, and I later got the assistant engineer certificate in a short period of time.
The design experiences from these projects made me very interested in creatively applying materials in projects. Meanwhile, I also continuously learned new ideas in architecture from different countries, and especially saw a lot of design drawings of overseas architectural masters. All these experiences have a great impact on me, sparking my intention of studying abroad to learn more in-depth contemporary international architectural conceptions. I especially aspire to get to know in more detail modern western architectural history in the hopes of forming my own architectural conceptions.
Besides this, another intense desire of mine is to comprehensively learn the relationship between architecture and culture, and through the study of western architecture, to determine China‘s own architectural style. China once boasted of a developed ancient architecture, while its modern architecture loses the characteristics of its indigenous culture, a great deal of architecture lingers merely on the stage of rough and superficial imitation of western architecture. I hope to form a sort of architectural design conception with characteristics of China‘s traditional culture after extensively absorbing modern architectural theories and technologies. That is what I yearn to do and also what I believe I can make.

澳大利亞初中留學(xué)申請要求
一、申請要求
· 中國學(xué)生的家庭在澳洲要有直系的親屬、親戚,必須是有血緣關(guān)系的,已經(jīng)拿到了澳洲的身份,或者已經(jīng)加入了澳洲國籍的
· 中國的孩子要在國內(nèi)完成小學(xué)六年級的課程或者是相當(dāng)于初一的預(yù)科,就可以到澳洲繼續(xù)銜接初中
· 語言要求很低,孩子可以到澳洲讀一段時(shí)間的語言課程,然后直接參加澳洲的學(xué)習(xí)
· 中國學(xué)生如果在澳洲沒有直系親屬作為監(jiān)護(hù)人的話,父母一方可以同時(shí)申請陪讀簽證,過去作為監(jiān)護(hù)人進(jìn)行陪讀

三、教學(xué)體系
(一)課程介紹
澳洲中學(xué)開設(shè)課程范圍很廣泛,主要通過教師的講授、小組討論和自習(xí)等方式來學(xué)習(xí),少有作業(yè)。初中第一年或前兩年是所有學(xué)生均參加的通識教育。隨后幾年,學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)由核心課程和自己選修的課程組成。
核心課程通常包括英語、數(shù)學(xué)、科學(xué)、社會與環(huán)境、英語之外的第二外語、科技與應(yīng)用等。10年級之后,大部分學(xué)生會進(jìn)入高級中學(xué)11年級、12年級(相當(dāng)于我國高二及高三),以面向大學(xué)升學(xué)為主,同時(shí)也包含職業(yè)性課程的訓(xùn)練準(zhǔn)備。12年級畢業(yè)后,學(xué)生可根據(jù)自身的需要和能力,選擇就業(yè)或繼續(xù)學(xué)業(yè)。
(二)公立中學(xué)
1.由政府投資管理,師資教學(xué)由州政府教育部統(tǒng)一管理。
2.由于主要生源是當(dāng)?shù)貙W(xué)生,所以語言環(huán)境較好,通常有獨(dú)立校園,環(huán)境設(shè)施比較優(yōu)良。
3.學(xué)費(fèi)相對較便宜,各州學(xué)費(fèi)相對差異不大,一年的學(xué)費(fèi)一般在1.1-1.4萬澳幣(約合人民幣7-9萬)。
4.住宿形式一般都是寄宿家庭。
5.申請時(shí)若無雅思,語言一般要讀20周,但學(xué)生若成績優(yōu)秀,可不必讀完20周即可轉(zhuǎn)入主課。甚至成績好,還有可能跳級。
6.小班上課,一般每班20-25人。
(三)私立中學(xué)
澳洲私立中學(xué)通常有悠久的建校歷史,在當(dāng)?shù)鼐泻芎玫目诒托抛u(yù),由于學(xué)費(fèi)昂貴被喻為貴族學(xué)校,在校學(xué)生基本出自于律師醫(yī)生、高級政府官員、社會名流等高收入家庭,因此學(xué)生來源和素質(zhì)比較有保障。澳洲私立中學(xué)數(shù)目眾多,其中許多非常有特色的院校值得中國學(xué)生選擇。
澳洲私立中學(xué)一般由教會、企業(yè)和私人機(jī)構(gòu)管理,大多都沿襲了傳統(tǒng)的英國教育模式和體系,校風(fēng)嚴(yán)謹(jǐn),對學(xué)生各方面要求嚴(yán)格。私立高中設(shè)施先進(jìn),各類教室、實(shí)驗(yàn)室、體育場、藝術(shù)中心、圖書館等等的配套資源都十分完善。
學(xué)生使用統(tǒng)一的筆記本電腦,所有軟件由學(xué)校安裝,課前預(yù)習(xí)、課程專業(yè)、老師反饋、每個(gè)學(xué)期成績報(bào)告等的內(nèi)容學(xué)生都可以通過筆記本電腦查詢。因此每所澳大利亞的私立高中都有著強(qiáng)大的計(jì)算機(jī)系統(tǒng)和超前的信息技術(shù)應(yīng)用技術(shù)。
與申請公立高中不同的,大部分的私立高中都需要參加AEAS考試或者學(xué)校自己設(shè)置的入學(xué)考試。如果入學(xué)測試不合格,是無法申請到入學(xué)資格的。當(dāng)然,學(xué)生初中成績也一樣需要優(yōu)異,畢竟學(xué)校都是擇優(yōu)錄取的。
如果孩子有雅思成績,英文成績夠好也給申請私立學(xué)校打入了一記強(qiáng)心針。所以家長需要斟酌孩子的水平和實(shí)力,選擇適合孩子的學(xué)校。
私立中學(xué)更注重個(gè)性化的教育和升學(xué)比率,校規(guī)較嚴(yán),重視品格培養(yǎng)。在澳大利亞私立高中學(xué)習(xí),可提早適應(yīng)不同的教育機(jī)制、人才培養(yǎng)和選拔機(jī)制,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生全面發(fā)展,為學(xué)生進(jìn)入主流社會成為精英人士打下重要基礎(chǔ)。

澳大利亞留學(xué)簽證要求須知
1.材料要求
澳洲留學(xué)簽證要提交的材料包括申請表、護(hù)照、戶口本、身份證、出生公證原件、在讀證明或畢業(yè)證、CoE、學(xué)校錄取通知、GTE、OSHC保險(xiǎn)憑證、存款證明、經(jīng)濟(jì)擔(dān)保信、在職人員還要提交工作簡歷和工作證明等。
用于遞交學(xué)生簽證的所有材料和信息必須是真實(shí)的。含有任何錯(cuò)誤或誤導(dǎo)性的虛假材料或信息的學(xué)生簽證申請可能會導(dǎo)致申請被拒簽。
2.保險(xiǎn)要求
申請澳洲留學(xué)簽證必須購買保險(xiǎn)并提供保單,申請人必須購買OSHC海外學(xué)生健康保險(xiǎn)。澳洲政府認(rèn)證提供OSHC的主流供應(yīng)商有六個(gè),分別是AHM、NIB、CBHS、BUPA、Medibank和Alliance,學(xué)生可以按照自己的喜好自由選擇。
按照2019年的費(fèi)用標(biāo)準(zhǔn),最基本的海外學(xué)生醫(yī)療保險(xiǎn),即達(dá)到政府規(guī)定的最低保險(xiǎn)要求的保險(xiǎn)計(jì)劃,留學(xué)生一年的保險(xiǎn)費(fèi)在460-560澳元左右。
3.申請要求
澳洲移民局宣布從2016年7月1日起,所有的澳洲留學(xué)簽證申請必須通過澳大利亞內(nèi)政事務(wù)部(Department of Home Affairs)的ImmiAccount在網(wǎng)上遞交,即目前澳洲留學(xué)簽證辦理都是通過線上。
移民局規(guī)定澳大利亞留學(xué)簽證申請至少在課程起始日的12周前遞交,即要提前近3個(gè)月遞交簽證申請。為了加快簽證申請,一定確保所遞交的材料正確、完整。
4.體檢要求
同學(xué)們在遞交申請后要自行打印體檢表格,并到指定的醫(yī)院體檢。體檢為3-5個(gè)工作日左右,體檢醫(yī)院會自行上傳學(xué)生的體檢報(bào)告給澳使館。
必須要在澳洲移民局認(rèn)可醫(yī)院進(jìn)行檢查,且至少在醫(yī)院結(jié)束服務(wù)時(shí)間前1小時(shí)到達(dá)醫(yī)院。醫(yī)院業(yè)務(wù)繁忙,留學(xué)生體檢可能需要預(yù)約,同學(xué)們可以根據(jù)醫(yī)院聯(lián)系方式打電話過去預(yù)約。
5.審核要求
遞交申請后需要耐心等待等待1-2個(gè)月左右,為了縮短簽證審批時(shí)間,遞交簽證申請時(shí)一定要附上所有所需文件,否則將面臨審批延遲或拒簽。
