My deep interest in psychology started to develop after I read the books "Owl in Love" and "Woman in the Wall" by Patrice Kindl. Of course, being only twelve years old at the time, I was far from grasping the true depth of the characters and the complex psychological net Kindl had been able to weave. Now, reading them again, it seems to me as though the author had written not only a fictional novel for children, but had actually filtered out character traits that are in most of us, making them stronger and more noticeable, like shyness or the wish of becoming something totally different to flee the hated world. The books had fascinated and encouraged me to look at the people in my surrounding much more closely, to try to figure out their differences and similarities as well as to question why they might behave in that way.
I am a keen writer, both in English and German. To be able to create a character that is unique and amiable, or simply just believable, one has to understand why he or she would act in certain situations. It is easy to write out of your own point of view, but actually understanding the characters you are describing and being able to make their actions plausible takes a long thinking process. You need to consider their family backgrounds, the decisions they made in their lives and the preferences they have developed throughout the years.
That is what I love about psychology; that every person is shaped by different influences. In this context I also find the nature-nurture debate very interesting.
For two years now I have been studying psychology as one of my core topics in high school choosing to take extra classes after school as well. This has given me the opportunity to look into many different areas of the subject and I have developed a particular interest in social and personality psychology.
I have also been studying ethics and philosophy and this has given me an advantage in connecting certain themes with each other and creating opinions that are very diverse and taken from different areas of the three courses. Ethics, for example, has provided me with a deeper understanding of moral themes, while philosophy has challenged some of my beliefs.
In 10th grade (05/06), at the age of fifteen, I had the opportunity to spend six months studying abroad as an exchange student in France, which perfected my French. This independent time I spent in a foreign culture gave me a deeper understanding of my own inner strength and strong will. It was a wonderful and rewarding time in which I was able to learn a lot besides a new language, such as coping alone with completely new situations. This experience widened my knowledge in terms of how strong humans can actually be, and so further deepened my interest in psychology and the true capability of people. Many friends I made there have stayed close and very dear to me.
I have no worries about studying in English as all my elementary schooling was in English and my entire secondary education has been in a bilingual school where half of the lessons, exams and assignments were in English.
I believe I would be a great asset to your university as I am a social, life-loving person, who enjoys not only to study, but has also learnt to take on responsibilities, is passionate about music - expressed in both dancing and singing classes - and has loved to act in various school plays, often taking on the leading parts. I am voted class representative and in this responsible position I speak up for my classmates and organise various events.
I am especially looking forward to studying and living in Britain, having travelled there a number of times, which has given me some insight into the realities of living and the fortune of studying there.

一、申請(qǐng)高中的條件
1、高中招生對(duì)象
英國(guó)中學(xué)只招收高三以下的國(guó)際生，所以中國(guó)高中生要進(jìn)行英國(guó)留學(xué)申請(qǐng)，只能是初三畢業(yè)生、高一和高二的在讀生高中生。如果高三在讀的學(xué)生也想申請(qǐng)英國(guó)的高中，就需要降級(jí)申請(qǐng)了，學(xué)生只能申請(qǐng)英國(guó)的12年級(jí)(高三)，需要再讀一年高三的課程，所以把握時(shí)間更重要哦!
2、語(yǔ)言要求
申請(qǐng)英國(guó)高中，一般要求學(xué)生的平均成績(jī)可以達(dá)到80分以上，對(duì)于初三畢業(yè)生申請(qǐng)英國(guó)10年級(jí)(高一)的學(xué)生，需要達(dá)到雅思4.5分，而高一和高二的學(xué)生需要達(dá)到雅思5.5分。

二、高中英國(guó)留學(xué)申請(qǐng)流程
1、確定留學(xué)計(jì)劃
綜合考慮自身的學(xué)習(xí)成績(jī)、學(xué)習(xí)能力、英語(yǔ)水平、年齡、性別等因素，確定最適合自己的具體的留學(xué)計(jì)劃，確定將要申請(qǐng)的英國(guó)中學(xué)及需另加讀的語(yǔ)言課程。制定留學(xué)計(jì)劃，確定學(xué)校以及課程設(shè)置。
2、提供申請(qǐng)學(xué)校資料
學(xué)生提供申請(qǐng)學(xué)校所需的資料包括：初中畢業(yè)證、初中三年成績(jī)單、高中在校證明、高中階段成績(jī)單、在讀學(xué)校簡(jiǎn)介、兩封老師推薦信、自我介紹短文(英文約五百字)、各類獲獎(jiǎng)證、資助人資金證明。
3、支付注冊(cè)費(fèi)(報(bào)名費(fèi))
學(xué)校有意接受學(xué)生申請(qǐng)時(shí)，要求學(xué)生支付不可退還的學(xué)校注冊(cè)費(fèi)(報(bào)名費(fèi))才進(jìn)行審理或寄出試題。各校收取50-300英鎊不等，視不同學(xué)校而定。
4、入學(xué)測(cè)試

英國(guó)留學(xué)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金介紹
一、政府獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金
首先就是由英國(guó)外交部出資設(shè)立的Chevening Scholarship，這是針對(duì)未來(lái)的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，看中的是學(xué)生身上的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力，含金量毫無(wú)疑問是非常高的，每年8-11月開放申請(qǐng)。
其次就是由英國(guó)政府投資的ORS Scholarship，這個(gè)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金是專門針對(duì)非歐盟成員國(guó)的留學(xué)而設(shè)立的，雖然每年的名額有8000名之多，但是競(jìng)爭(zhēng)激烈，每年4月開放申請(qǐng)。
最后就是由蘇格蘭的行政院贊助的Scotland Scholarship，這份獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金提供的金額會(huì)相對(duì)更少一些，每年只有2000英鎊的學(xué)費(fèi)減免和往返機(jī)票的報(bào)銷，每年4月截止申請(qǐng)。
二、院校獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金
學(xué)校提供的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金基本上都是大同小異的，除了學(xué)術(shù)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，就是院系獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，然后就是專項(xiàng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，覆蓋的學(xué)生面依次變小，金額卻逐漸遞增。
學(xué)術(shù)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金是完全按照學(xué)生的成績(jī)來(lái)進(jìn)行發(fā)放的，會(huì)考察學(xué)生一年之內(nèi)的表現(xiàn)，并且以最后期末考試的成績(jī)?yōu)橐罁?jù)，進(jìn)行獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的發(fā)放。
院系和專項(xiàng)在某種程度上是學(xué)術(shù)的補(bǔ)充，將學(xué)生的范圍縮小，但是審核的要求會(huì)更加嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)一些，畢竟提供的金額更多，所以專業(yè)的要求會(huì)更高。
三、其他獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金
最后就是一些其他組織和社會(huì)機(jī)構(gòu)提供的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，即包括各類國(guó)際性的組織，也有英國(guó)本土的大型企業(yè)，這些獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金作為前兩種獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的補(bǔ)充，會(huì)對(duì)學(xué)生提出一些特殊的要求。
大多數(shù)國(guó)際組織機(jī)構(gòu)提供的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，都只針對(duì)研究生及以上學(xué)歷的學(xué)生，因?yàn)檫@樣的學(xué)術(shù)針對(duì)性會(huì)更強(qiáng)，也更能為學(xué)生提供幫助。
而企業(yè)提供的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金對(duì)學(xué)生的專業(yè)實(shí)力要求更高，而且還會(huì)要求學(xué)生在校期間在企業(yè)進(jìn)行實(shí)習(xí)，或者完成學(xué)業(yè)后在企業(yè)內(nèi)工作一段時(shí)間。
