Due to the comprehensiveness of China’s “reform and open” policies, economics plays an increasingly important role in the development of its global position. Though more and more companies built, management of companies cannot catch up with the development of the companies. Management is a burgeoning field in China, so I hope I can acquire more modern knowledge on management in England.
The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my childhood. My father was among the first of China’s new breed of modern entrepreneurs. As a young girl, it was inspirational hearing about his business ventures, and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. My mother was also involved in business as an accountant, helping him with simple calculations. And so it was early in my life that I hoped I, also, would someday be able to enter the realm of business.
With the time of growing up, I preferred reading books to satisfy my curiosity. I never ceased to contemplate over the questions I encountered. Subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and my knowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasing rapidly.
As a high school student in China, I had to concentrate on the College Entrance Examination (CEE), even so, books not related to the exams were never excluded from my life. Unfortunately when sitting in the exam in June, 2001, I was so nervous that I didn’t score well in the CEE exam. I enrolled in the department of Computer Science in Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Any attempt to persuade myself to focus on my major turned out to be a failure at the beginning of my college life. After several terms, I realized that I would never be interested in being a programmer or an engineer. At that moment, I lost my direction and objectives.
My persistence in reading saved me from the dark situation. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed reading the books included Encyclopedia American, and some books about management by Peter F.Drucker. I began to notice something interesting: Why some companies can produce more than others? Why some company can sell more than others? Why some companies can build up but others cannot when facing the same difficulties?
With the questions in my mind, I started to read many relevant books. I was lucky to read the book “Jack: Straight from the Gut”by Jack Welch, in Which John A. Byrne makes a clear illustration that the management is important for a company. When I was a junior, I ran a bookshop by myself near my school. I should manage not only the finance in the shop but also the employees in my shop even made some strategies to enlarge the business in my shop to hold on the run the shop. From this, my interpersonal skills and the capacity in business has been greatly developed, definitely I was increasingly interested in what I was doing. By December, I had finally determined to take business management as my career instead of IT. To accumulate more relevant knowledge, I strived to gain more practical work experience in some big companies.
Fortunately, as a senior, I began by conducting an internship in the Architecture Company in Zhejiang Province. Over six months, I worked as an assistant of the manager to harmonize the relationship between the different departments in this company and to draft some management system, which broadened my perspective of management conditions and business performance in different industries. The experience showed me that management is much more important than that of I thought in big companies. After graduation, I continued my work in this company. In May, the company offered me an opportunity to participate in an training program held by a famous management school. Through in-depth discussions with teachers and students in the classes, they all encouraged me to pursue my future career in management field because of my intellectual ability and the brand new ideas I mentioned.
During the short period of training, I realized that pursuing a higher degree in management is a wise choice for me now. 留學(xué)前的注意問題
第一個是語言關(guān)。到美國幾乎沒有人講漢語了，除了你的同學(xué)是中國的同學(xué)。在美國，多數(shù)情況下，外國人的比例不會超過 15%，所以外國人還是少數(shù)。所以第一就是語言關(guān)要過了，否則的話去了學(xué)習(xí)也跟不上。我們發(fā)現(xiàn)很多學(xué)生剛剛過去買錄音筆，回去之后再聽一下。所以有三個月的適應(yīng)期。在國內(nèi)對聽說材料多進(jìn)行了解。
第二點，獨(dú)立能力和自理能力一定要強(qiáng)。中國同學(xué)有一點特別注意的就是，我們知道中國就是一考定終生，或者是中考的成績是你一生的夢想。所以我們學(xué)習(xí)好的孩子好了，這樣的話就導(dǎo)致我們的智力能力和生活能力很差。要出國留學(xué)的同學(xué)，獨(dú)立能力和自理能力一定要強(qiáng)。在國內(nèi)衣服都沒洗過，到美國生活會很困難。對家長來說，如果想讓孩子出國，提前讓孩子在生活上學(xué)會照顧自己，有特別強(qiáng)的獨(dú)立精神。
第三個是在精神上做好準(zhǔn)備。我們整體的綜合情況和美國孩子還是非常不一樣的，美國孩子是非常獨(dú)立的，到大學(xué)以后幾乎不向父母要錢了，有很多同學(xué)出國以后融入不進(jìn)去，這方面要早一點做好準(zhǔn)備。很多大學(xué)一開始的時候會有很多社團(tuán)，這個時候最是好的交流的時候。如果你沒有加入到社團(tuán)這個群體中，那你以后就很可能被別人忽略。所以出國之前一定要做好心理上的、生活上的，包括語言等方方面面的準(zhǔn)備。
出國留學(xué)簽證過程
簽證申辦過程辦理外國簽證，無論是中國人辦理外國簽證，還是外國人辦理其他國家簽證，無論采取哪一種方式，是委托代辦，還是自己直接辦理，一般需要經(jīng)過下列幾個程序：(l)遞交有效的護(hù)照。
(2)遞交與申請事由相關(guān)的各種證件，例如有關(guān)自己出生、婚姻狀況、學(xué)歷、工作經(jīng)歷等的證明。
(3)填寫并遞交簽證申請表格。簽證不同，表格也不同，多數(shù)要用外文填寫、同時繳付本人照片。
(4)前往國駐該國大使館或領(lǐng)事館官員會見;有的國家規(guī)定，凡移民申請者必須面談后，才能決定;也有的國家規(guī)定，申請非移民簽證也必須面談。
(5)大使館或者領(lǐng)事館，將填妥的各種簽證申請表格和必要的證明材料，呈報國內(nèi)主管部屬門審查批準(zhǔn)。有少數(shù)國家的使領(lǐng)館有權(quán)直接發(fā)給簽證，但仍須轉(zhuǎn)報國內(nèi)備案。
(6)前往國家的主管部門進(jìn)行必要的審核后;將審批意見通知駐該國使領(lǐng)館。如果同意，即發(fā)給簽證。如果拒絕，也會通知申請者。
(7)繳納簽證費(fèi)用。一般來說，遞交簽證申請的時候就要先繳納費(fèi)用，也個別國家是簽證申請成功的時候才收取費(fèi)用。一般而言，移民簽證費(fèi)用略高，非移民簽證費(fèi)用略低。也有些國家和地區(qū)的簽證是免費(fèi)的。
