圣誕節(jié)寫給老師的一封信篇3
2010 December 25
Dear Professor Peng:
Now I am sitting in Room 402, No.9 Teaching Building of Beijing Normal University to write a letter to you, Professor Peng. Do you still remember this room which you gave the second year graduate s of the psychology department career planning course?
How time flies!
How are you doing in 2010? You might have been to many places; your life should be wonderful; while you might make new friends from all over the world and enlighten lots of students with your wisdom and talent. It is very possible that you created other groups and united them to share and to learn from each other, to experience God and miracles in their life.
This is Jie Wang. I hope you can still remember me .The student who missed the last counseling opportunity with you and requested you to join her in your group to share life with all within 15 years ,though she didn’t very clear about the program. She only knows that it is a promise with God.
Jie has to say that she is still not a pure Christian; nevertheless, she formed the habit of praying before meals and kept it for a year. God is still not in the center of her life, but he is usually be with her, and she believes that he is not far away from her. How to report and share with others even she didn’t know very well what has happened during her last year’s life?
In the order of time.
Since January, she took part in a career workshop in a training center named Bebeyond which lasted for three weeks (Nevertheless, her group members keep their friendship for a year and it will continue). Something wonderful happened since then. She got lots of friends there. She has learnt three lessons in her life. First, be proactive. Second, be crazy and stupid. Third, a rising tide life all boat.
Be proactive. She tends to become more calmer down when facing with challenges and pressure. She knows to secure an opportunity for herself, and be active in making a choice. Eg, in the workshop of EAP, when the student consulted the trainer difficult questions for answer, she raised up her hands and gave the best and proper answer, though she was the youngest trainee among all who were experienced counselors or managers .She really did well!
Be crazy and stupid. She shouted in the overpass with her Christian friend Amber, “ I am the best!” “God loves me.” Then she often encouraged others to shout with her. That was cool! Shouting in Bebeyond, shouting at the top of the mountain. Let others to shout out in the biggest voices in their life to increase their confidence. She found herself has the potential to be a trainer.
A rising tide life all boat. She learnt leadership from her new and cherishable friend Guoxiang. She learned that only when the group becomes stronger, then every member in it can benefit a lot, even more than a person try her/his best can get. Eg.in the graduate workshop in Bebeyond she took part again, she always enjoy sharing all the information with other members, promise to give a shoulder to others when they need her.
From April to June, she mainly accomplished three things.
1Graduation. She finished the graduate experiment, paper and presentation. What she was proud of is that she went through mills in the previous one years’ exploration in her graduate design, nevertheless, she finished the core part in one month with high efficiency, because she had learnt to give privilege to the subjects, to let them operate the experiment by themselves. It is important to have trust in others, to stimulate their interests and let them do you a favor.
2 Learning counseling. Attending counseling courses of Professor Hou, doing an internship in Yide counseling center and center ,and engaging activities in a philanthropy counseling union was her mainly access to learn counseling skills. Professor Hou’s counseling course taught them the systematic skills in counseling. It was very helpful. She made two friends in the course, formed the habit of writing reviews every week and got confidence in clinical practice. The internship in Yide counseling center let her know how enthusiastic and happy she was when conducting counseling. She stayed up every night in two months to write reply to clients who suffered from all kinds of psychological problems. It was amazing! Engaging activities in a philanthropy counseling union broadened her horizon about counseling meanwhile she learnt counseling culture and atmosphere from people who are pursuing development in this filed all over the country.
3Recreations. A trip to Shanghai gave her full recreation after three years’ monotone academic life! She met old friend there, went to several places of interests, secured job opportunity and most importantly, she even did counseling there!
From July to December, her gain was in the follow aspects.
1 Working as a financial assistant in the lab. Thank professor Yu and Junyun gave her such an opportunity .It was a part-time job. Work can make a person become mature. It is true. She learnt patience, forgiveness, carefulness, make preparation beforehand, mature and having a long term strategy in making deals with people.
2 Application for studying abroad.
1)English test. She took twice tofel and twice GRE tests during the half year, not to mention previous examination records. The final scores are still not satisfactory! She even hate English and was doubted her ability during the period. Nevertheless, scores improve less, she really think her ability improve more. Now her view towards the tests are still not negative, the bad records do not necessarily mean she cannot write first level articles in the future and cannot use English as well as mother tongue several year later. She has confidence that she can take good use of this tool. And for the test, she would like to improve her examination skills and create more chances for her to communicate with professors and enjoy English as a weapon to help her overcome her blocks in the pursuit for a career in counseling!
2) Bebeyond training. The lessons are enlightening. She has learnt what real excellence is. It is a process of becoming mature and your realization for it.
She felt sorry for two things, one is that she didn’t unite her group member and play the role as a leader due to her view that a leader should be outstanding in every aspect from the members. Each person has his/her own potential. A good leader is who tries to make each member’s potential into full play and improve her during the long journey. She will make up in this point after the new year!
The other is that she felt self-conscious during the process because she used to judge a student by his/her scores. Now she got hurt by her own standard. She learnt this because she formed a wrong inner work model according to Bowlby’s attachment theory. She used to live in an environment where people gave a child praises when s/he got high marks in school. She gained this kind of acknowledge for a long term and she would like to get rid of this poor standard forever. She is good and excellent in many ways. She will show that later in her work performance!
3 A consideration for future. She is working on her way to her dream. It is a way the minorities choose and she just enjoys walking towards her goal. To be a counselor, not only to give contribution to academic research, but also improve the wellbeing of people who turns her for help , both in formal and informal way!
Response to last years’ three wishes:
1 To be a psychological counselor.
This dream has come true, while I am on my way to be a good and qualified psychological counselor. It is important for me to have a clear goal for what I want to do and to achieve.
2 To help my mother to straightening her teeth.
Not yet. Well, I think two months’ later, When I go back home for the spring festival I can make this little wish come true. This wish comes from my hope to reward those who love me. I appreciate them so much. Mom and others expect no return from me, but I should do something.
3 To go America to study or travel.
I am still on the way. It is a journey to broaden my horizon, experience life in difference culture and a pursuit for better education. But that is too superficial. I should ponder more for the real reason.
This year’s summary: I got too much love from people in my life. I can’t express my gratitude for them. I know there is no perfect person except God, but I still doubt the existence of God is a myth by people who need him. What I can do only is to love the people in my life, to overcome my shortcomings and pursue for wonders in everyday life.
In the follow year, I will do endeavor in the following aspects
1Find a reliable theory, go deep in it and let it guide my counseling meanwhile to testify and revise the theory. Let it help me in a more efficient way.
2Possess critical thinking ability. Make a decision by myself more fast and reliable. Say more “no” if it is against my will of insisting on justice. Say more “yes” if I tend to follow vanity, selfish, laziness and self-doubt.
3 Be brave, enthusiastic and creative. Always be ready to meet challenge and always eager to try something new and wonderful. Keep a heart of curiosity.
4Make more friends and organize more actives with people in my life.
5 Prepare a life to be guided by God.
