S:Hello everyone,I am the host Sophie. This time we invite Oscar Wilde to participate in our program. You must be very familiar with Oscar Wilde. He is an Irish writer and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Today he is remembered for his epigrams and plays. Now let’s welcome Oscar Wilde.
O: Hello, everyone~Hi,sophie, thank you for inviting me here.I’m so glad.
S: As we know, you have been very famous. Can you talk about your burdens as a star?
O: A super star burdens a lot.Once a person became famous,he would pay for it by giving up the freedom to express himself with his own style. What’s worse,he is always living under too much attention without privacy.Stars are also acommon people,we do need a normal peaceful life. But it’s too hard.
S:People may think the life of stars is full of happiness and glory, however, they live a hard life. Now let’s communicate with the audience,ok?
O:Of course.
A1: Hello, Wilde. you have been very famous Your umcompromising behavior led to your drop of fame. You lost your fame and worshipping fans. How is you life after your drop? Are you satisfied with your present life without fame ?
O:Well,at first,I was in a low spirit for a while. But gradually,I fell in love with my new life.I really enjoy the fantastic freedom.I needn’t to please my audience by saying things aginst my will.I can remain true to myself.I can’t be more satisfied.
A1: I can understand your feelings.I hope that you can live a happy life and write more good works. Don’t care much about what others say, just be yourself! Come on.
O:Thank you,I will.
A2: Hi, Wilde. An artist is hard to be both successful and uncompromising. If you have a second chance to make a dicision, what will you choose, fame or freedom?
O:I’ll make the same decision. In my opion, freedom is more impotant than fame.I can’t live without it.I want to be the person I want to be ,instead of the person others like.
A2:I really appreciate your courage to follow your heart.Nowadays,it takes many people out of themselves to persue fame and fortune. I hope that more people can make the same choice like you.
S:Stars are also common people .Too much attention means too much pressure. Please give them the freedom to be themselves.

MS. YANG: I know you have just had a dialogue with the Chinese women. Some of them you have known for 11 years. Well, to the younger generation of women, like your daughters, what kind of advice would you like to give to those who aspire to succeed and lead, but could be afraid of failure?
And I just try to tell young people who ask me all the time what I think about the best way Because there is a debate here - with unclear future, we should stop buying more.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Well, I certainly do think that the Chinese government and the central bank here in China is making a by continuing to invest in treasury bonds for two reasons.
challenges sweeping over the world, the United States has a well-deserved financial stability reputation.
And, secondly, because our economies are so intertwined. The Chinese know that, in order to start exporting again to its biggest market, namely, the United States, the United States has to take some very drastic measures with this stimulus package, which means we have to incur more debt.
MS. YANG: Okay. So we have to keep rowing?
SECRETARY CLINTON: Yes.
A: Do you hear what happened to Sally?
B: No, what?
A: She had to go to the hospital.
B: Why?
A: She passed out in class. Seems she hadn't eaten anything in days.
B: Why on earth would she do that? You mean that she intentionally2 did not eat any food for days? That's crazy!
A: Yeah, but that's what she did.
B: I can't believe that there are girls who are willing to do that to their bodies. And all for a certain look.
A: Well, it's not just the girl’s fault. It's also society's fault - magazines and ads that show wafer3 - thin models all saying “It's in to be thin”. It's hard for them not to listen.
B: True, but there are limits. Being thin is one thing; starving oneself to death is another. No one forces them to do this.
A: I know that, but sometimes it's hard to make the right decision. And besides, anorexia4 is a psychological5 problem as well. Anorexics never think that they are thin enough, and they keep pushing themselves.
B: Well, they should do more to tone down6 those messages and try to promote a healthier body image. It really hurts girls if they grow up thinking they're always too fat.
A: I agree. I don’t understand why you always look so happy, so energetic. It seems like you’ve got good news everyday.
B: Really? Do I look happy all the time?
A: All I know is you look quite differently from others.
B: Oh, do you know why? Actually, it’s easy. Because I always exercise. My exercise, I think, is very hard. I often feel very good after conquering4 these difficulties. I feel alive!
A: Oh, I know. I saw you doing pull-ups one time on the campus.
B: Seldom would people like my exercise. It’s difficult and boring.
A: It’s true. Many students do the exercise when they have to. We have P. E. once a week.
B: But I think we students need to exercise more. Besides exercise will help them learn new things better. Don’t we want to have a good memory?
A: Of course. I didn’t know that. I only know exercise makes bodies stronger. I should take some exercise then. Do you have any suggestions?
B: Well, do what you like to do. It can be anything. Jogging, doing aerobics, going bicycling, and playing ping-pong. Absolutely anything. Doing three or more workouts a week is good for you. But remember to do some stretches first.
A: Oh, I know. Thank you. Hey, Look at the flyer on the wall . It says that we can get rich quickly while working at home!
B: Do you also believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?
A: What do you mean?
B: I mean that you're gullible6. You shouldn't believe everything you read, especially on the Internet.
A: But it seems like a good idea. All I have to do is first send some money to the person who sent me the letter. After that he'll tell me how to earn much more money.
B: Sounds like a pyramid scheme. Have you heard of those before?
A: Pyramid scheme? What is that?
傳銷(xiāo)?
B: It's a scam7 that's based on a hierarchy8, like a pyramid. The person at the top asks the people below him for money, and then tells them to go and ask other people for money while sending some of it back to him.
A: Sounds good to me. The guy at the top gets money and so do the people below him.
B: Not exactly. The scam keeps on going, with the people at the bottom paying more and more money until they reach the very bottom.
A: What happens then?
B: Nothing. The people at the bottom give their money to the people above them, and they get nothing. They end up losing. That's why it's a scam.
A: I see. I guess I should be more careful about what I read, especially on the Internet where you have no idea who anybody is.
