間接轉(zhuǎn)述(Indirect Speech)
所謂間接轉(zhuǎn)述也就是將聽(tīng)到的和看到的話語(yǔ)用自己的話以口頭方式再轉(zhuǎn)達(dá)出來(lái),要用自己的話把別人的意思轉(zhuǎn)述出來(lái)。在托??谡Z(yǔ)的表達(dá)過(guò)程中,針對(duì)特定問(wèn)題,用自己的話把讀到、聽(tīng)到的對(duì)話內(nèi)容或演講內(nèi)容再重復(fù)出來(lái)。對(duì)于托福考生來(lái)說(shuō)確實(shí)是有一定的難度的。
在轉(zhuǎn)述中一般常見(jiàn)的規(guī)則就是,轉(zhuǎn)述的引語(yǔ)連詞使用that。另外,托福口語(yǔ)練習(xí)中要根據(jù)意思改變?nèi)朔Q。請(qǐng)看下面的例題:

概述(Summarizing)
就是用簡(jiǎn)練話語(yǔ)概括描述一篇材料的中心思想。概述主要就是對(duì)整篇文章的方向、內(nèi)容、或是一個(gè)事件的簡(jiǎn)單描述。概述與論述相對(duì)應(yīng),論述需要詳細(xì)的描述該事實(shí)的前因后果,力求詳細(xì)完整。

Listen to a conversation between two students.
(man) Hey, Jennifer. How are things going?
(woman) Well, I’m relieved this is the end of semester. But that’s actually part of my problem.
(man) What do you mean?
(woman) Can you believe this? My computer broke yesterday. So it’s at the shop being repaired. It won’t be read y until the end of n ext week which is when all my papers are due.
(man) Why not use the computer lab? They’ve got lots of machines there.
(woman) I know. But it gets so noisy there that I can’t keep my mind on my work. I mean, when I’m at a computer, I’m not just typing. I’m thinking! So I need quiet to concentrate.
(man) Maybe you can try going in the morning or evening. It might be less noisy then.
(woman) Maybe. But this time of year, everybody’s working on papers. It could be crowded even then.
(man) Hmm. What about calling back the computer rep air shop to see if they can have your computer read y at the beginning of next week instead? That would still give you enough time to finish your papers by the end of the week.
(woman) Oh! I haven’t thought of that! The only problem is the shop is closed today and tomorrow for the long holiday weekend. So it’ll be a few days before I can talk to them.

The woman’s problem is that her computer is broken and being repaired in the shop, now she can’t finish all her papers in time. There are two possible solutions here. The first one is that she can go to the computer lab to do all the work. The second is waiting for her computer to be repaired. I would use the computer lab to do my work if I were her. First, this way she won’t waste anytime on the weekend, and there is no guaranty that the repair shop can get her computer ready as early as the beginning of next week. Second, she can choose a time when the lab is less noisy to do her work, such as early in the morning or late in the evening.
