  在許多大三學(xué)生還在享受校園時(shí)光的時(shí)候,另一些人已開始試水求職(job hunting)大戰(zhàn)了。而對(duì)于大三學(xué)生的加入,大四學(xué)長以及人力資源專家們則持有不同看法。

  The junior year is a midway checkpoint for university life. Some might still be having a high time on campus, but others are thinking about something else: job hunting.

  大三學(xué)年可謂是大學(xué)生活的中間關(guān)卡。一些人可能還在享受最好的校園時(shí)光,而另一些人已經(jīng)開始思考另一問題——求職。

  Submitting resumes, visiting job fairs, even taking interviews - it seems some junior students have already joined the job-searching throng. But this has invited different views from their peers.

  投遞簡歷、趕赴招聘會(huì)、甚至參加面試——似乎許多大三學(xué)生已經(jīng)投身到求職大軍中去了。而他們的同學(xué)則對(duì)此持有不同觀點(diǎn)。

  Zhang Long, 21, a junior majoring in administration management at Sun Yat-sen University, is one of these early birds.

  21歲的張龍(音譯)是來自中山大學(xué)行政管理專業(yè)的大三學(xué)生,他便是這些求職“早起鳥”中的一員。

  He began to prepare his resume during last year’s summer holiday and visited several job fairs this semester. After attending three interviews he was eventually offered an internship at the Agricultural Bank of China.

  去年暑假期間他就已經(jīng)開始簡歷了,本學(xué)期他也參加了多場招聘會(huì)。在經(jīng)歷三輪面試之后,他最終得到了中國農(nóng)業(yè)銀行的實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)。

  “If I start focusing on beefing up my resume as well as my interviewing and networking skills this year I will be better prepared than others for job hunting during the senior year,” said Zhang.

  張龍表示:“如果我今年就開始集中精力充實(shí)個(gè)人簡歷,加強(qiáng)面試與人際交往技巧的話,大四時(shí)我就會(huì)比其他求職者準(zhǔn)備得更充分。”

  Other students have thrown themselves into job-hunting early on in order to figure out their career goals.

  還有一些學(xué)生早早加入求職大軍是為了找到自己的職業(yè)目標(biāo)。

  Ding Wei, 21, a junior majoring in English at Beijing Normal University, visited job fairs to explore and get a feel for the career paths she is considering.

  21歲的丁薇(音譯)是來自北京師范大學(xué)英語系的大三學(xué)生,通過參加招聘會(huì),她進(jìn)一步了解和認(rèn)識(shí)自己要選擇的職業(yè)道路。

  “At the fairs, I meet with HR managers to discuss my options,” she said. “Even if you’re already clear about the career you want, this can help confirm or delay your decision, or tell you more about the professional skills you will need.”

  “我在招聘會(huì)上同人事經(jīng)理們討論我的職業(yè)選擇。即便你已經(jīng)十分清楚自己想從事的職業(yè)了,這還是會(huì)幫助你選擇堅(jiān)定還是推遲自己的決策,或是讓你學(xué)習(xí)到更多的專業(yè)技能。”

  But not all students welcome the presence of juniors in the job market.

  但并非所有學(xué)生求職者都對(duì)大三學(xué)生加入競爭大軍表示歡迎。

  Mo Qiao, 22, a senior majoring in civil engineering at Tongji University, disagrees with their early engagement.

  同濟(jì)大學(xué)土木工程專業(yè)大四學(xué)生,22歲的莫喬(音譯)就不贊成這種提前試水職場的舉動(dòng)。

  “Job interviews are not mock exams to practice your skills,” Mo said. “For us, they represent rice bowls. Juniors shouldn’t crowd the market and diminish our chances.”

  莫喬表示:“求職面試并非你鍛煉技能的模擬考試。對(duì)我們而言,他們意味著飯碗。大三學(xué)生不應(yīng)該涌入求職市場,搶我們的飯碗。”

  HRs have also lodged complaints about juniors wasting their time when selecting the right person for a position. “Juniors cannot work full time, so we can hardly hire them,” said Cui Chunlan, HR manager at Siemens China Ltd.

  各公司人事經(jīng)理們對(duì)于大三求職者也頗為不滿,指出這是在浪費(fèi)他們篩選人才的時(shí)間。“大三學(xué)生不能做全職工作,所以我們幾乎不會(huì)雇傭他們。”西門子(中國)有限公司人力資源總監(jiān)崔春蘭說道。

  “When they hand us resumes and attend interviews, it is confusing for us and drains our energy for dealing with the large amount of applicants.”

  “當(dāng)他們投來簡歷并參加面試時(shí),我們會(huì)感到莫名其妙。大批求職者涌來也使得我們筋疲力盡。”

  Companies allow junior students to take internships, but most require regular working hours. If internships are too demanding and reduce a student’s academic learning time, they are advised to cut down and take their studies more seriously.

  盡管用人單位很歡迎大三學(xué)生來實(shí)習(xí),但大多數(shù)都要求按正常工作時(shí)間來上班。一旦實(shí)習(xí)工作任務(wù)過重,導(dǎo)致學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)間減少的話,他們應(yīng)該放棄實(shí)習(xí),以學(xué)業(yè)為重。

  Zheng Zhihong, deputy director of the Employment Guidance Center at Jilin University, suggests students pay a personal visit to target companies.

  吉林大學(xué)就業(yè)指導(dǎo)中心副主任鄭志紅(音譯)建議學(xué)生們可以親自去拜訪自己心儀的公司。

  “If there are only a few companies on your list, you can ask seniors or grads who are working there about the working environment,” Zheng said.

  “如果你屬意的只有幾家公司,那么你可以向在那工作的大四學(xué)長或校友前輩來了解工作環(huán)境。”鄭志宏說。

  “Apart from seeing the office, you can also look around the neighborhood and get an idea of how affordable housing and dining are in that area,” said Zheng.

  “除了親自查看辦公地點(diǎn)之外,你還可以去周邊逛逛,了解一下那邊吃飯、租房的價(jià)格如何。”

  Improving your job-searching skills through other channels is another recommendation. “You can prepare for interviews by yourself or with the help of classmates,” said Cui.

  此外還有一條建議,那就是通過其他渠道來提高你的求職技巧。崔春蘭表示:“你可以自己準(zhǔn)備面試,也可以尋求同學(xué)的幫助。”

  “Or you can build up your professional network by creating a profile on social networking sites.”

  “或者你也可以在社交網(wǎng)站上創(chuàng)建個(gè)人信息,來建立屬于自己的職業(yè)關(guān)系網(wǎng)。”
