So it is important for us to build up our confidence whenever we do anything.
Some people always complaint about the difficulties they have to face in their lives and they are incapable of overcoming the difficulties. They often refuse to have a try, so there is no opportunity for them to overcome difficulties. It is apparent that they lack self-confidence.Firstly, they underestimate themselves. Second, they tend to overestimate the difficulties. Third, they are afraid of making mistakes or getting failures. So it is important for us to build up self-confidence.
Madame Curie once said: "we should have perseverance, especially self-confidence! We must believe that our talent is used to do some things. No matter what happens, we have to work as usual." It is the self-confident that support her after brokenhearted and widowed hit. She made great contribution to human science and was awarded the Nobel Prize twice.

How to build up self-confidence
Self- confidence plays an important role in our life. We can do nothing well without self-confidence. There are, I think, three steps to build up our self=confidence. First we should believe ourselves. This is the basic part of building self-confidence. Then we should start from the easy things. It will greatly encourage us if we do these things well. At last we should make progress step by step by dealing with problems which are much harder to be done well.
First step:Believe you yourself. Saying is much easier than doing. But we have no choice. We must believe ourselves. If we don’t think we can deal with something well, then we are determined to fail before we setting up to do it. We should tell us that even we can’t doit very well, but at least we can make some changes. The most important part is to remind ourselves that we can make some differences.
To encourage ourselves, wo must start from the easy things. Rome was not built in a day. For x example, I was not good at English grammar when in high school, I was upset when I made many mistakes in the exams. Then my English teacher told me to do from the easies part. And he gave me some very easy exercise to practice. I found it enjoyable when I was doing the exercise. Day after day, I was not afraid of doing English grammar exercise. And my self-confidence was built by starting from the easy part. So remember that we should choose the simple and ordinary things.
Third we should go father after finishing the simple and easy part. When we find that we can handle most problems easily, we should know it is a sign of moving forward. For example, if you can run 3 miles in an hour easily, then you should try to run 4 mile in an hour, and then 5 miles. Just keep moving . The better you do, the more confident you will be.Then one day you will find you have surpassed most people around you. And at this time you will find that your self-confidence is built up already.
