懶惰英語(yǔ)作文篇4
Ambition is the decision one makes and the resolution with which he carries out that decision. It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings in our life. Just as Joseph Epstein, a famous American writer put it, “And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated. This notion of life, as far as I observe, is closest to truth and does apply to almost all aspects of life.
First things first, ambition renders us a sense of mission. No matter what decision you make you have to be responsible for your choice. Your choice procures you a sense of orientation, or more specially a sense of mission.
And only a strong mission may enable one to accomplish greatness. Caesar of the ancient Roman Empire was urged by his ambition “I came, I saw, I conquered.” And became an unrivaled empire builder in the history of Rome. John Milton, stimulated always by his ambition that aimed at writing some “mighty lines” which England would unwillingly forget, had in due time secured his position as the second Shakespeare in the history of English literature.

Laziness or lack of ambition is like dead weight on our chests. All it takes is one big push and we’re free, but that “big push” is not always easy to muster because the effort seems a lot more difficult than it actually is. The situation is similar to trying to get out of bed as soon as we awaken from a long sleep. Write an essay with no less than 300 words, in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.
Laziness, one of the Catholic seven deadly sins, would probably leads to poverty and adversity. People who are lazy would never amount to anything in life.
A person who lacks ambition will bring to the whole society negative energy, let alone creating some sort of social values or achieving his own values of life. The first president of the United States—Benjamin Franklin had lectures pointing out that “sloth, like rust, consumes faster than labor wears”. This tells that a decadence of will is even worse than a decadence of the body. We could see nowadays healthy and strong young people begging for a living everywhere—in the entrance of a metro, shopping mall and motor station etc. Those young people choose to go down on their knees for begging rather than making a living by their own hands. Such poor spirit radically cut themselves out of the possibilities of creating even a single bit of value. This is a blasphemy of life and their own infinite possibilities. There is a man in my hometown who is rather lazy and finally led a rather hard life. That lazy man not only made his children lack of necessities of life and education, but also had himself suffer from miseries and distresses. Worst of all, he and the whole family went begging in the end. As a grown-up, he should have put the family and the responsibility in the first place. It is rather tragic since he destroyed all the hopes for a better life.
Great determination is needed in getting rid of laziness. Laziness is a kind of life habit that permeates in the blood of a person. Procrastination is the main manifestation of laziness. What one should do is to fight against procrastination. A plan should be made first of all and an obedience to the plan is requested. One should do what the plan tells and do it well. List all the things in a day, a week and a month, and go after it every day. There is an old saying goes that “a habit will be formed
within 21 days”. Perseverance is the basic principle to defeat laziness. The most important yet difficult part of breaking away from procrastination is to hold on and on and on…Once the good habit is formed, the whole new industrious and ambitious person is formed.
