1.Prospective B-type Foreign Currency Depositors
All foreigners, Chinese of foreign nationalities and overseas Chinese living in and outside the Chinese mainland and the regions such as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are permitted to open accounts of B-type foreign currency deposit in their own names.
2.Prospective C-type Foreign Currency Depositors
All Chinese residents holding foreign currencies are permitted to open accounts of C-type foreign currency deposit.
The Bank adopts the principle of separate management for accounts of deposit in foreign exchange and foreign banknotes, i.e. accounts of foreign exchange and accounts of foreign banknotes.
1.Accounts of Foreign Exchange (Foreign Exchange Accounts)
All convertible foreign exchange remitted, brought or mailed into the territory from abroad may be deposited in the foreign exchange accounts. For foreign currency bills for which prompt payment may not be made, they are to be collected by the Bank, and, when collected, deposited in the Bank.
2.Accounts of Foreign Banknotes (Foreign Banknotes Accounts)
All convertible foreign banknotes brought in the territory from abroad may be deposited in the foreign banknotes accounts.
In opening an account of B-type foreign currency deposits, the depositor shall present his or her passport, the residence certificate or other valid credentials for all foreigners or Chinese of foreign nationalities.
In opening an account of C-type foreign currency deposits, the depositor shall present his or her ID card or other valid credentials.
The types of currencies that may directly be deposited in foreign bank-notes accounts include: U.S. dollar, Pound sterling, Euro, Japanese yen, and Hong Kong dollar, the types of currencies that may directly be deposited in foreign exchange accounts, aside from the above-mentioned five types, also include: Canadian dollar, Swiss franc, Belgium franc, Netherlands guilder, and Australian dollar. For other convertible foreign currencies, the depositor may choose any of the above-mentioned currencies and deposit after conversion according to the foreign exchange quotations on that day.
Foreign currency savings deposits may be kept in the account of deposit certificate or checking account. They may be deposited and withdrawn at any time. The minimum amount for such deposit is foreign currencies with a value not less than the equivalent of RMB 100 yuan for a B-type account of deposit, or foreign currencies with a value not less than the equivalent of 20 RMB yuan for a C-type account of deposit.
Time deposits of lump-sum deposit and lump-sum withdrawal are fixed deposits that are deposited by lump-sum, and whose principal and interest are paid by lump-sum upon maturity. The terms of deposit are divided into five grades: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or 2 years. The Bank issues registered certificates of deposit for such deposits.
Foreign currencies with a value not less than the equivalent of 500 RMB yuan for a B-type deposit, or foreign currencies with a value not less than the equivalent of RMB50 yuan for a C-type deposit. Such deposit may be withdrawn fully or partially prior to maturity for once, or, upon authorization in advance, handled on agency renewal of depositing upon maturity by the bank.
Savings/time optional deposit in foreign currency are registered deposit without fixed amount, without definite maturity, whose interest rate varies in line with the length of maturity. The minimum amount of deposit is the foreign currency with a value not less than the equivalent of 50 RMB yuan. The longest maturity is 1 year, and the interest is computed at a discount rate relevant to the corresponding grade of interest rate for time deposits of lump-sum depositing and lump-sum withdrawal according to the actual number of days deposited. The interest is computed with reference to interest rate of the RMB Time/Current Optional Deposits.
The principal is deposited in a lump-sum for a maturity of not less than seven days. The minimum amount of deposit is the foreign currency with a value not less than the equivalent 5,000 RMB yuan. For the withdrawal of such deposit, the Bank shall be informed in writing seven days ahead of time.
1.乙種外幣存款的開戶對象
居住在中國境內(nèi)外、港澳臺地區(qū)的外國人、外籍華人、華僑、港澳臺同胞,均可以本人名義開立本存款賬戶。
2、丙種外幣存款的開戶對象
凡持有外幣的中國境內(nèi)居民均可以開立丙種外幣存款賬戶。
銀行對外匯或外幣現(xiàn)鈔存入采取不同賬戶管理原則,即區(qū)分外匯賬戶和外鈔賬戶。
1、外匯賬戶(簡稱外匯戶)
凡從境外匯入、攜入或寄入的可自由兌換的外匯可存入外匯賬戶。不能立即付款的外幣票據(jù),需經(jīng)銀行辦理托收,收托后方可入賬。
2、外鈔賬戶(簡稱外鈔戶)
凡從境外攜入的可自由兌換的外幣現(xiàn)鈔,存入外鈔賬戶。
開立乙種外幣存款賬戶時(shí),外籍儲戶可憑其護(hù)照,居民證明或其他有效身份證件。
開立丙種外幣存款賬戶時(shí),儲戶可憑其護(hù)照,居民證明或其他有效身份證件。
可直接存入外鈔存款賬戶的貨幣種類有:美元、英鎊、歐元、日元、港幣等貨幣;可直接存入外匯存款賬戶的貨幣除上述五種外,還有:加拿大元、瑞士法郎、比利時(shí)法郎、荷蘭盾、澳大利亞元等貨幣。其它可自由兌換的外幣由存款人自由選擇上述之一種,按當(dāng)日外匯牌價(jià)折算存入
外幣活期存款為存折戶和支票戶,可隨時(shí)存取,開戶起存金額:乙種賬戶存款為不低于人民幣100元的等值外幣;丙種賬戶存款為不低于人民幣20元的等值外幣。
整存整取定期存款為固定存期,一次存入,到期一次支取本息,存期分為1個(gè)月、3個(gè)月,6個(gè)月,1年,2年五個(gè)檔次。銀行出具記名式存單。
乙種存款為不低于人民幣500元的等值外幣;丙種存款為不低于人民幣50元的等值外幣。本存款可允許全部或部分提前支取一次,也可預(yù)約由銀行代辦到期轉(zhuǎn)期續(xù)存。
外幣定活兩便存款是一種不確定存期,利率隨存期長短而變動(dòng)的記名式不定額存款。起存金額不低于人民幣50元的等值外幣。存期最長為1年,按實(shí)存天數(shù),符合整存整取定期存款哪個(gè)檔次就按該檔次利率打折計(jì)息。計(jì)息參照“人民幣定活兩便儲蓄存款”
一次性存入本金,存期不少于7天,起存金額不低于5,000元人民幣的等值外幣。支取存款需在7天前書面通知銀行。
