經(jīng)典小學(xué)生英語詩篇一
Our Mother's at a Meeting
Our mother's at a meeting
for some big, important deal,
and couldn't be at home tonight
to cook the evening meal.
She left some short directions
for my sister just to follow.
Instead my sister cooked up things
impossible to swallow.
Like Brussels sprouts in vinegar
and jellybeans in mustard,
an onion-pickle pudding
and a lemon-radish custard.
She burned a stick of butter
'til the house was filled with smoke,
then fried a pound of pepper
with a half an artichoke.
She put a whole banana
in the blender with a steak,
then mixed it up with tunafish
and baked it in a cake.
She stirred some chocolate ice cream
with garbanzo beans and bacon.
A single bite was all it took
to leave me feeling shaken.
We should have ordered pizza
but we didn't know, alas,
my sister is the only kid
who flunked her cooking class.
經(jīng)典小學(xué)生英語詩篇二
Mrs. Gordon's Garden
Mrs. Gordon's garden grows
not a radish nor a rose.
Not a beet or blade of grass
in the bed beside our class.
Not a truffle. Not a tree.
Not a pepper nor or pea.
Not a pansy, peach or pear.
No azaleas anywhere.
Not a pumpkin, parsnip, plum,
carrot or chrysanthemum.
No forget-me-not or fig.
Not a single sprout or twig.
No carnations, cabbage, corn.
Not a thistle, thatch or thorn.
Not a berry. Not a bean.
Nothing yet remotely green.
Watering and sprinkling seeds,
watching warily for weeds,
Mrs. Gordon rakes and hoes.
Still her garden never grows.
But she doesn't seem to mind.
That's the way it was designed.
Mrs. Gordon's quite content
gardening upon cement.
經(jīng)典小學(xué)生英語詩篇三
The Elephants Bounced
The elephants bounced and propelled up the stairs.
The hippos did somersaults over their chairs.
The bison were bounding and so were the bears.
It was such a spectacular scene.
The cows were careening around in the den.
The rhinos went right through the ceiling and then
my mom made me promise that never again
would I buy them a new trampoline.
經(jīng)典小學(xué)生英語詩篇四
My Elephant is Missing
I cannot find my elephant.
He must have run away.
He isn't on the sofa
where he promised he would stay.
I've looked around the living room,
the kitchen and the hall.
My elephant is missing
and I'm not sure who to call.
I'll need to get a bloodhound
who can track him by his scent,
or hire a house detective
to discover where he went.
He isn't in the basement
or the attic or the yard.
You'd think, to find an elephant
would not be quite so hard.
Perhaps I'll make some posters,
and I'll offer a reward.
I'd make it more, but fifty cents
is all I can afford.
If you should see my elephant,
he answers to "Jerome."
Please tell him that I miss him
and I wish he'd come back home.
He knows the way. It's up the street
and down our garden path.
And next time I won't warn him
when it's time to take his bath.
