Desmond Tutu, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, once said, "Your family are God's gift to you, as you are to them.", which tells us that parents are to us what lighthouses are to ships. Without parents, we would get lost when we grow up; without us, parents would feel sad and lonely.
I'm the apple of my parents' eye. As a pupil, I couldn't remember English words, often failing exams. So bitter was the feeling of being defeated that I thought of giving up. To encourage me, they told me to fill a glass with rapid running water. Unexpectedly, I found however hard I tried, my glass was only half full. Only then, did I realize what I needed to learn English well were right ways. With their help, I mastered the methods of memorizing vocabulary. Now, English has become my strength, which has also become their pride and joy.
No doubt both parents and we are important to each other.

快餐之我見 My View on Fast Food
Fast food becomes more popular now, especially among the teenagers and the children. Why do so many people like fast food?
快餐食品現(xiàn)在越來越流行，特別是在青少年和兒童中。為什么那么多人喜歡快餐呢?
For one thing, it's very fast and convenient. It always serves in no time, so we can either eat it in the restaurant or take it away. For another, because of the different ways of cooking, it looks nice and tastes delicious. What's more, the service and environment is good, so that we can have our dinner in a happy mood.
一方面，快餐很快也很方便?？偸呛芸炀湍苌喜?，所以我們可以在餐廳里吃或者把它帶走。另一方面，因為烹飪方式的不同，它看起來很好看，吃起來也很好吃。更重要的是，服務和環(huán)境都很好，這樣我們就可以在一個愉快的環(huán)境吃晚餐。
However, in terms of nutrition, it's far from satisfactory. Most fast food is junk food. It contains so much sugar and fat, which makes us put on weight so easily. Since the westerners have the fast food every day, most of them have heavy weights, high blood pressure and bad teeth.
然而，在營養(yǎng)方面，它是遠遠不能令人滿意。大多數(shù)的快餐都是垃圾食品。它含有太多的糖份和脂肪，這會很容易增加我們的體重。因為西方人每天都吃快餐，所以他們大多數(shù)人都超重，血壓高，有壞牙齒。

College Entrance Examination is one of the most important matters for Chinese people. We can nearly say that no other things can cause such attention in the whole society. Some people support it while others are strongly against. The following advantages and disadvantages are their reasons.
高考對中國人來說是最重要的事情之一。我們幾乎可以說沒有什么事能夠引起全社會如此關(guān)注。有些人支持這一觀點，而其他人則強烈反對。以下優(yōu)點及缺點是他們的理由。
The supporters say that College Entrance Examination is fair to select of talents. Because everyone is equal before the marks and that makes the College Entrance Examination fair. Besides, the preparation for the university entrance exam process hones the adolescents' will and endurance which has meaningful influence on future development. Moreover, by the examination, the level of education can be improved to a certain degree. Last, it's a good chance for rural students to change their economic status.
支持者認為高考對選擇人才來說是公平的。因為每個人在分數(shù)面前都是平等的，這使得高考是公正的。除此之外，高考的準備過程鍛煉青少年的毅力和耐力，這對他們以后的發(fā)展產(chǎn)生有意義的影響。另外，通過考試，教育水平可以在一定程度上得到提高。最后，這對農(nóng)村的學生來說是一個改變他們的經(jīng)濟地位的
However, the arguers say that the disadvantages can not be ignor. Firstly, different regions have different admissions policies which results in the areas of discrimination. There is more fierce competition in the densely populated provinces. Secondly, scores and diplomas do not equal ability, and college entrance decided by too much emphasis on scores may lead tohigh scores but poor ability. Finally, a college diploma is increasingly worthless. More and more universities are established to accept more college students compared with the past, and so more and more students are graduating from the universities every year. However, with the financial crisis, many companies began layoffs, thus causing fewer and fewer jobs to be available.
然而，反對者認為，高考的缺點也不容忽視。首先，不同的地區(qū)有不同的招生政策，這將導致該地區(qū)的歧視。在人口密集的省份競爭更加激烈。其次，分數(shù)和文憑不等于能力，過分強調(diào)分數(shù)的高考可能導致高分低能現(xiàn)象。最后，大學文憑越來越?jīng)]有價值了。與過去相比，越來越多的大學被建立以接收更多的大學生，因此每年有越來越多的學生從大學畢業(yè)。但是，由于經(jīng)濟危機，很多公司開始裁員，這導致了可以得到的工作越來越少。
The two sides all have reasons to support their ideas. As far as I am concerned, the examination cann't be changed in short time, so that all we can do is accept it and figure out how to do can make it turn to a better direction.
雙方都有支持各自觀點的理由。在我看來，考試在短期之內(nèi)不會改變，所以我們能做的就是接受它并想出怎樣做才能使之往更好的方向發(fā)展。
