The Spring Festival
Far and away the most important holiday in China is Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year.
To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas to people in the West.
The dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar, so the timing of the holiday varies from late January to early February.
To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year's Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. But the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the Lantern Festival, means the official end of the Spring Festival in many parts of the country.
Spring Festival is the most importantand popular festival in China. Before Spring Festival,the people usually clean and decorate their houses. And they go to the Flower Fairs to buy some flowers.
During Spring Festival,the adults usually give lucky money to children.People often get together and have a big meal.Some people eat dumpling for dinner.

My Spring Festival
The Spring Festival is the most important festival all the year round for the Chinese. During this Spring Festival, I have a good time. First of all, I did so well in the final exam that makes my parents very happy. They say that it’s their best gift for the New Year. And we come back our hometown to spend this biggest festival with other relatives. We had a big dinner on the New Year’s Eve. There were about thirty people had the dinner together. It was really great. After dinner, we enjoyed the Spring Festival Gala Evening. On the New Year’s Day, we gathered together to play games or cards. We children got lucky money from adults. This was the most exciting thing for us. On the following days, we visited to each other, bringing our best wishes.

I could not help laughing when I saw the Spring Festival coming, and before the Spring Festival, people were jubilant and energetic. Some are buying New Year's paintings, some are buying new years, some are watching TV in a burning box, others are playing mahjong, and so on.
People in the streets are crowded with all kinds of goods, people are afraid to buy anything is difficult to choose.
Before the Spring Festival, every family is brightly lit, and all have their own unique characteristics. They put their purchases all over the floor. Buy the New Year picture how to stick to method, that each has its own style and liking. Some of them are sticking, some of them are upside down, others are crooked, each has its own. People have finished all the dishes they have bought, and they can only wait for the Spring Festival. Every family is equipped with firecrackers, people wear new clothes, prepare to welcome the New Year, before the Spring Festival, people go out, if met a good friend, in the mouth always remember to say "buy New Year goods."
People kill pigs and kill sheep, and they are busy preparing for the Spring Festival.
When the Spring Festival came, the children got up early and went to their parents' room to start the traditional worship ceremony. The children said some lucky words to their parents, and the parents took out the lucky money, so that the children would be happy. Everyone hopes to have good luck this year.
